Tidying up /usr

Hi Managers,

I'm preparing for a DU upgrade to 4.0D and looking to clear some space on
the /usr partition.

Can someone please confirm whether or nor it is safe to remove the following
:-

/usr/var/adm/pacct - about 10Mb in size and I believe is just accounting
info
/usr/var/adm/messages - about 5Mb

Is it safe to just copy /dev/null to both the above files ?

Also can the contents of /usr/var/adm/crash be deleted ?

Thanks in anticipation.
