Hi,
the Visual3 library package at the MIT (Bob Haimes)
requires an x-visual with the same number of bits for each color.
That means it requires either 12,15,24 color depth.
We have a DPW600au with an Elsa Gloria Synergy card (8MB).
With the entry:
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -vclass TrueColor -I
-ffbforceDepth 15
in the /usr/dt/config/Xservers file I do not get what I want:
I get 16 bits (as statet by the xdpyinfo utility). Without the -I
-ffbforceDepth
option I get the same.
Three questions:
Is the option -ffbforceDepth (as documented for the 4D20) also available
with
the 4D10 (Elsa) card? If so, why won't it accept the 15?
How can I force to color depth (either 12,15 or) 24?
Why won't TrueColor give me 24 color depth?
The release notes for Open3D 493 (which I've installed) says that with
the resolution of 1280x1024 I should get 24 color depth.
I decreased the resolution to -screen 1024x768 but still only got depth
16.
Since I am not subscribed to the list (just using the archives), please
send suggestions and help via email (I will summarize any help).
