Defragmentation question

Hi admins,

     We have 3, 8200 machines. Each machine has a bunch of disks connected using
HSZ50s in RAID5 . I am monitoring the fragmentation of the domains on these
disks periodically and it keeps increasing. My question is what is the
significance of fragmentation in a RAID5 environment as the data is anyway
striped.
