Hi all,
We've just taken delivery of a model 2 ES40 and I'm having problems
installing TU4.0F.
The machine as delivered has 4 cpus, 4Gb memory, 1 KZPCM dual-port SCSI
and 1 KZPAA narrow SCSI. SRM 5.4-11 is installed.

The ES40 section of the installation guide says:

>>> set bus_probe_algorithm new
>>> init

When I do this, the init command seems to reset bus_probe_algorithm to null.

When I boot the CDrom, OSF boots and begins probing the buses, but
complains when it gets to the ata0 (PCI bridge) probe thus:

ata0: ACER M1543C
shared_intr_add: attempt to share non-shareable interrupt, index 0xa
handler_add failed
(ohcconfl1) unable to register for interrupts
Failed to configure device in PCI bus 0, slot 19 with driver usb

The boot then proceeds, and gives me the normal install menu.

However, if I add a second KZPMC adapter, I get more error msgs

ata0: ACER M1543C
shared_intr_add: attempt to share non-shareable interrupt, index 0xa
ata-probe: handler_add failed
ataconfl1: scsi7 on ata probe failed
scsi 8 at ata slot 1
shared_intr_add: attempt to share non-shareable interrupt, index 0xe
handler_add failed
(ohcconfl1) unable to register for interrupts
Failed to configure device in PCI bus 0, slot 19 with driver usb

and the boot procedure halts, complaining of no swap etc.

Any ideas anyone?

I'm going to proceed with only 1 KZPCM installed to see if a kernel
build will then let me add more later, but this doesnt seem like
the correct approach somehow.

Cheers,
Terry
