While back I posted a message regarding a problem with AdvFS cloning and
vdump'ing the cloned fileset. The problem appeared when I installed Patch
Kit 4 on 4.0D.
Patch Kit 3 and earlier works just fine. Briefly the problem with Patch Kit
4 and above is that the cloned fileset displays the "Used" and "Capacity"
fields all 0 (zero) and the backup execution time for the cloned filesystem
is roughly doubled and somehow the data which used take 2 DLT tapes, start
restoring the same data on a single DLT. But the most obvious problem is
the backup timing.
Last night I managed to reproduced the same problem on a system running 4.0F
(no surprises there!). I tested this because I am about to create a private
network utilizing a gigabit NIC for Legato, this NIC require 4.0E or above
(there may be some individual patch to make NIC working on 4.0D --I don't
know).
I got the last update from Compaq is that engineering has managed to
reproduce the problem and they are working on this. My question is how
stable is AdvFS/cloning is? Am I stuck at 4.0D with Patch Kit 3 for life?
Any good advise?

Kit 4"
