Subject: Cloning system disk

Greetings, fellow managers

I have a 4 GB system disk on my server that is slowly dying. Compaq
tech support is on the way. The disk is still readable and the
system is still up, and so it is probably possible to do a disk to disk
copy to the new system disk that they will be bringing.

My question is, how can we transfer the /, /usr, /var partitions to the
new disk in such a way that the / partition will be bootable. Will
a straight dump work? I have actually done this before but it was so
long ago I've forgotten how.

Thanks for any help
