Hi Gurus,
Today I had an error message I couldn't believe.
How is it possible to have too less space to mount
root?
Ok, here is what I did:
An overview: I vdumped the system-disk, and booted
the dumped on.
I am running DU4.0f. With 2 disks in it:
/rz0 / and /usr (both advfs)
/rz6 empty
1)
I created advfs filesets on rz6:
root2_domain#root (/dev/rz6a)
usr2_domain#usr (/dev/rz6b)
2) *single user mode
I vdumped(and vrestored) / to /root2 on rz6:
vdump 0f - / | vrestore -xf - -D /root2
I vdumped(and vrestored) /usr to /usr2 on rz6:
vdump 0f - /usr | vrestore -xf - -D /usr2
3)
I edited /root2/etc/fstab, so it matched the
new filesets.
4)
in console mode
boot dka6
A kernel was found, and booted. But the bootup
stoped with an blue screen, with white font on it:
...
Checking local filesystems
Mounting / (root)
root_domain2#root on /: Not enough space
user_cfg_pt: reconfigured
Mounting local filesystems
exec: /sbin/mount_advfs -F 81920 root_domain2#root /
root_domain2#root on /: Not enough space
...and so on
How can that be? Too less space to mount root?!?
Does anybody have a clue, or have done this before?
Thank you.
