FDDI cards Y2K compliant?

Hello Tru64 UNIX managers:

Up until know, three FDDI cards on systems that I help manage were working
fine. Now, all three cards seem to be broken. No abnormal indicator lights
appear on the cards, but they will not respond to pings, nor does data go
through them now. We use these FDDI cards to do NSR backups. The NSR
server (an AlphaServer 8200) uses a FDDI line to back up three ASE disk
clients that are shared between a pair of AlphaServer 4100s. All systems
are running what I understand to be Y2K compliant software (Tru64 Unix
4.0d with Patch kit 3 and 5 and NSR 5.2). Oddly enough, the ASE disk
services are mounted fine via the FDDI on the active node of our cluster
right now.

I have reported this problem to Compaq and I am awaiting further response
from them, but they suggest that the firmware on the FDDI cards might be
bad. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
