We just inherited an SW800 cabinet with an HSZ40 controller. When I try to
initialize a RAIDSET after creating one I get the following error:
Error 9320: Initialize of container failed due to invalid writeback cache
on THIS_CONTROLLER
Other errors with other commands are giving similar errors about the
writeback cache being invalid on the controller. My thought was that the
battery had run down and I just needed to run the machine for awhile.
However I'm having the same problem 24+ hours later. The weird thing is
that when I do a SHOW THIS it says that the cache is GOOD but it doesn't
even list the battery information!
A full output of SHOW THIS FULL follows. Any help greatly appreciated - I'm
sure I'm missing the obvious! I've taken the controller card out and it
seems okay. Is it possible DEC F/S did something to ready the machine for
shipment before we got it? There's a 2nd HSZ40 controller (not configured
for dual-redundancy) that's behaving exactly the same.
Thanks!
Chris
