rdump problem

I'm trying to dump from a DEC running 4.0d to a tape drive attaching to
a Sun box. When I use the rdump command, these are the errors I got:
        rcmd: socket: Permission denied
        rdump: Cannot establish connection to remote /etc/rmt command, trying
/usr/etc/rmt
        rmthost(): rcmd(): Permission denied

I have a .rhost file in both machines. Thanks in advance.
