The problem was that the sh shell under /sbin ( the shell which is used
before the mounting procedure ) was corrupted.
Here is the original question -
Hi,
last weekend , 2 of our servers (4.0D and 4.0E) were stuck when they reached
level 0 on the way down/up.
The message on the console was : /bin/sh : /sbin/loader: fatal error: cannot
map libc.so
and then only the HALT button can exit this.
I've booted from the CDROM, copied these files again to the system disk from
another one but it didn't help.
Only installation of the OS again solved the problem.
Does anybody know what possible could go wrong in this case ?
Thanks.
