Thank you to Ron Babcock, Michael Bucholtz, Robert Casey, Anthony Gerbino,
and Rochelle Lauer.

There are places running UniData products on Tru64 Unix 5 with out problems.
Still caution and testing is advised regarding Tru64 Unix 5 in general.

Since Tru64 Unix 5.0A is due out some time this year, it seems to be a
better
idea to try to setup the new server with Unix 5 if possible. It will be a
production machine when 5.0A is released and I think it might be easier to
take that production system from 5.0 to 5.0A rather than 4.0F to 5.0A.

We will replace the system disk with an empty hard drive and built the
system as a fresh install. We have the time to install and test the OS and
applications so if things do not work out as planned, we can return the
original system drive and continue from that point.

Original post:

Does anyone have Ardent's UniData running on Tru64 Unix 5.x? We are
about to deploy an Alpha Server DS20 which currently has Tru64 Unix 4.0F
and was wondering if we should consider the OS upgrade. The folks at
Ardent do not know IF their software will run on version 5. If you happen
to
be using UniData on Tru64 Unix 5, I would like to hear from you.
