SUMMARY: cpu EV revision?

Wow, this list is incredible, thank you!!

The most unanimous answer was to use /usr/sbin/psrinfo -v or
/usr/sbin/psrinfo -a. Other suggestions were to look at sys_check's output
or try sizer -implver.

And Dr. Tom Blinn answered with the following:

Depends on what release of Tru64 UNIX you're running. In general, this
kind of information can be retrieved by the "getsysinfo" system call.

In some releases, "sizer -implver" will tell you which CPU family, but
that's not in the V4.0D sizer; "sizer -c" is documented as telling you
the CPU type, but it really returns a string used in kernels to tell
what system family it is, and the strings aren't readily converted to
things like "EV45" or "EV56".

As for CPU "revision number", beyond the family variants, I'm not even
sure there is a way to tell. There are sometimes chip revisions, but
I don't think the details are documented for "external consumption".

On at least some system types, the "show config" command in the SRM
console will show you a lot of detail; for instance, on a DS20E, the
command output includes this string:

        Alpha 21264A-8 666 MHz

and if you know that a 21264A is an EV67 then you can get information
out of the string, but I don't think the output says "EV67" anywhere.

Thanks again for the quick responses!
