We run xntpd as the standard time server to allow remote users to synch
with us so that their pcs etc are in step. Their time clients usually
only allow one ip address to be set.
We operate a cluster so we have the problem that if the main m/c falls
over the ip address of the server changes and so time requests fail.
We thought we could get round this by making the time server a 'service'
under ASE so that it is a virtual address. So far this fails as xntpd
binds the physical address of the machine to its service.
How can we set a parameter in, say, ntp.conf which will allow us to give
time service on a 'service', ie virtual, address please?
