Hi admins,
I got a lot of helpfull ideas from
La Roche, Michael, simon.millard, Gerhard Nolte
Gwen Pettigrew, Ronald D. Bowman and Rochelle Lauer.
I had a look to /var/run/syslog.pid which gives me 1440.
So I ran /sbin/init.d/syslog stop where I get an error message
that pid 1440 doesn't exist. Well, then I restart with
/sbin/init.d/syslog start which gives a new /var/run/syslog.pid
but syslogd is always not running. I have only the message
System error logger started but ps -edf | grep syslog doesn't
show my syslog daemon.
??
