SUMMARY: converting 8char msdos names back to long file names

Hi Tru 64 sysadmins...

Just to finish this one off, IMHO, Alan Davis came up with a great
suggestion. --it never occurred to me.

I will have to look into it. I know that the Linux kernel has loadable
modules that do this (e.g. you get short file names if you don't load the
module and long file names if you do)
