I am running a very I/O intensive application (MSC.NASTRAN), and am trying
to determine the best S/W and H/W settings to achieve the best I/O
throughput. I have two questions that I hope some of you might have some
insight into.
1. For pure I/O performance, is it better to use UFS or AdvFS for the file
system?
2. Given two ESA10Ks (each with two HSZ70s), each on its own bus, do you get
better I/O performance using LSM to stripe two disk together (one from each
ESA10K), or use the H/W striping capability of the HSZ70s and only take
advantage of one bus?
Thanks,
Kevin
