Dear managers:
I have various Alphas running Tru-64 4.0f and higher. My biggest problem
is print spooling to remote printer devices. Most of the time it works
without a hitch, but then the Alpha and the remote printer device stops
communicating with each other and I get a call to fix the problem. I
have written some suid scripts to help the user restart the queue but
it isn't a perfect fix.
Is there any freeware, shareware, commericial software than can give good
feedback to the user/and or administrator? I can look on the Internet, but
I prefer to hear from the group. We prefer, to use lpr instead of lp.

P.S. We sometimes ship binary files to our remote printer devices such
as sun raster format where it prints out our Nuclear Medicine films.
