emacs eraes my other mail inboxes

Hi,

I like the emacs editor. I use it a lot. I would like to use it to
send and read mail but when I use it to read my mail it erases the inbox
as regards my other mail clients. I think that behavior is rude.

[Q] How can I prevent emacs from erasing the other mail inbox. Or how can I
    restore the other mail inbox after it does?
