secure ftp & netscape roaming access

What options are there for a more secure FTP with ease of setup for PC
clients to our unix servers.

I know there's scp that is a secure version of rcp, but I need a solution
for the average PC and miscellaneous mac user. Perhaps there is no "easy"
solution.

Also, I'd really like to take advantage of the "netscape roaming access"
and have it coordinated with our server... but have no idea what I need...
and haven't seen any "sys admin" help on this.

Thanks!
