Hi,

my original questions was where to find an ethernet packet analyser. Sorry
that the summary is delayed. But I've been busy at work on my net problem...

The suggestens where to use
        * Ethereal
                http://ethereal.zing.org
         for that package you need some more libraries, but it compiles without
         great problems
        * snoop or tcpdump
                ftp://ftp.cac.psu.edu/pub/unix/netman/dec-alpha/
        * etherman/interman
                ftp.cs.curtin.edu.au

Randy also provided links to some sniffers he uses under Linux
        * sniffit
                http://reptile.rug.ac.be/~coder/sniffit/sniffit.html
        * list of sniffers
                http://www.mibsoftware.com/reuse/comm/imp/monitor.htm#UTILS

Marie-Claude and Dieter offered me to send the binaries for etherman.
Special thanks to them - fortunatly I don't need them.

Thank to all who responed:
