Hi, Managers,
We do daily backup during the early morning. When I came in this morning,
our backup log file shows the following messages:
vdump: unable to write to device < /dev/nrmt1h>; [5] I/O error
vdump: unable to prompt input for retry on device; [25] Not a typewriter
The message appeared when it tried to back up the second file system.
"Uerf -R -o full" also shows several entries of hard errors on the tape
drive.
We had the same problem last week and we replaced the tape drive. Backup
went ok for several days. Now the same message shows on our new tape drive.
So I'm wondering if it is a real hardware problem.
It's 4.0E.
Any help is appreciated.
