SUMMARY: Repair disk

Hi,

The original question related to finding a way to "repair" the firmware on
a PWS500au. The system failed with a beep code indicating a problem with
the flashrom data. The hardware guide indicated this might be repairable
using an Emergency Repair Disk but gave no indication as to what this
might contain exactly.

Thanks go to Oisin McGuinness for his suggestion to locate a Fail Safe Load
jumper which exists on some systems but unfortunately not on the PWS series
it seems. Setting this allows a boot from a floppy containing system
firmware (fwupdate.exe downloadable from the DEC service web site).

I'm just going to wait for another replacement board.

Cheers

Joe
