Further SUMMARY: Monitoring System, Memory, and Disk performance with MIBs and snmp

As an addendum to my earlier posting on the 16th of February,

Robert Urban <urban_at_spielwiese.de>

pointed out that I had left out the complete path to collect and also a pointer
to a web-page
for collect information.

Since it may save someone some time trying to find the information, I am
reposting the digest of the answers which
I posted earlier, but this time I am including more complete information on the
colect tool.

Commonest suggestionwas to look at the MIB information provided by Performance
Manager from the Associated Products CDs.

The MIB information which this tool uses can be found in
/usr/opt/pm/data/pm-mib.

Other suggestions included:
1. Using TOP (not what I had in mind).
2. WhatsUp Gold from www.ipswitch.com (not free)
3. Use collect available from ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/collect/
    and a collect web page at: http://collect.sticht.org/
4. Use the MIB information available from the MIOB data file pm-mib referred to
above with MRTG.

And, there's even a sample MRTG script using the pm-mib info located at:
