Hi managers,
I receive response from :
Stan Horwitz <stan_at_astro.ocis.temple.edu>
Lavelle, Bryan <Bryan.Lavelle_at_COMPAQ.com>
Russ <Russ_Fish_at_idx.com>
Sean O'Connell <sean_at_stat.Duke.EDU>
Davis, Alan <Davis_at_tessco.com>
Thank's to all, but nobody point me on a good walktru to resolve my problem.
I can't make further tests for the moment, I have put my tz88 back on the system.
I forget to mention that I have removed old files on /dev before making my MAKEDEV tz18 and I make a mistake on patch kit applied on my system.
It was the patch kit #3.
My original Post :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have tried to replace one TZ88 by a TZ89:
- At the >> prompt when I do a "show device", I can see the device.
- When I boot , in the uerf I saw the device again.
- I have do the MAKEDEV command for my "tz18" device.
Uerf entry:
tz18 at scsi2 target 2 lun 0 (LID=36)
_(DEC TZ89 (C) DEC 2150)
_(Wide16)
Then problem, when I try a "mt rew" command, nothing append on the drive.
I use Digital Unix 4.0d patch 1, on an alpha server 2100a.
>From what version of DU the TZ89 drive was supported??
Somebody have the same problem??
Thank's, I will summarize...
