A8400 - GS140: How to obtain temparature readings

Regarding the "SUMMARY: How to obtain temparature readings" of Lars Bro:

Unfortunately I can´t get the environmental parameters on an A8400 or GS140.

/sbin/sysconfig -q envmon
envmon:
env_current_temp = 2
env_high_temp_thresh = 2
env_fan_status = 2
env_ps_status = 2
env_supported = 0

Is there a trick or I´m missing something ?
