    Hi,
     I know this is not a tru64 question directly. But I would like to know
how I can store a file type (Ex:gs %s)
     with Application Preferences on a Tru64 OS V4.0D and Netscape version
V4.7. I can do this operation
     with Netscape V4.6 with out problems. What I have done is like this:

     1. start netscape
          2. Select Prefences (Edit menu)
             3. Select Navigator
                4. select Applications
                  5. Select Postscript Document
                     6. select Edit
                       7. Select Application
                         Now I used 2 methods:
                         ==================

   First Method:
   ==========
          1. Select Choose
             2 . Select Directory in Directory window
               3. select filter to get the file names in the directory
                 4. Selected the file(selection window - gs for
ghostscript)
                    5. pressed OK

                        Then in Application window additionally added : %s
(gs %s)
          Then press OK

     To check closed the preferences window and opened again by selecting
Preferences. Then select Navigator - Application.
     Checked whether the entry is still their for Postscript Document. The
entry was : "Unknown: Prompt User." as before

     No success.

   Second Method:
   ============

    Start netscape - select Preferences(Edit menu) - select Navigator -
select Applications - mark Postscript Document-
    select Edit - select Application - wrote gs %s - select OK -
    again select OK

              Again started netscape-preferences-Navigator-Application and
looked for Postscript Document entry - As before
     no changes.

       Iam very sorry if the steps mentioned are not very clear. I donot
know what Iam doing wrong.

     Thanks for your help. Please execuse me if this question does not
belong to this mailing list.

    with regards,
      Kumar
