installation from hard disk

I have a system that is not on the network and was formerly a NT alpha.

I want to install TU5 on it. I converted it to OS_TYPE UNIX to begin the
process.

The install from cd does not work, I get a memory fault when it tries to
load
the os, but there does not seem to be anything wrong with the memory so
perhaps
it is something else.

I would like to try making a hard disk bootable (done) and copy the install
cd to the hard disk (on another system of course).

How do I copy the cd to the hard drive so it would function as an install
disk?

thanks
