Hi all,
TU64 V5.0 PK1
-------------
I'm getting complaints from tar about long link names.
Does anyone know what the length limit is?
The complaints are like:
tar: /old_ramakgrp0/ribo/cnsrefine/initial_try/cmb_4.0A_0.575.mtz : Link name too long
The link itself is:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 ribo ramak 101 Apr 13 18:02 /old_ramakgrp0/ribo/cnsrefine/initial_try/cmb_4.0A_0.575.mtz -> /ramakgrp0/ribo/solve/aps0300/cmb_4.0A/solo1/cmb4A_0.575/cmb4A_s0.575_f-0.739_t0.05_8.0_4.0_final.mtz
(I've left them as long lines to avoid confusion).
dump seems to be able to handle these with no problem.
Also, I've been using dump/restore to make filesystem copies,
followed by diff -r to make sure all is well. However, diff
follows symlinks which is a bit annoying since it then ends up
comparing a file with itself.
Does anyone know of a version of diff where this feature can be suppressed?
Cheers,
Terry.
