SUMMARY Weird NFS behaviour...

This was a hardware problem, believed to be a kzpba or scsi hub (both
have been replaced). This had caused an error in the file system which was
causing the behaviour. A couple of hours after I posted the message the
ADVFS domain paniced and the file system was lost, oh well....

Moral of this story, as soon as anything strange starts happening shutdown
& make damn sure your tapes are good.
