libcurses osf/1 & xpg4 compatibility

Hello... I get the following message when trying to install a database app.

hawkeye> sh ./uni_setup
Starting UniData UDMS install
426962:/usr/ud41/bin/install: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error: object libcurses.so
from liblist in /usr/ud41/bin/install has version "osf.1", which does not
match the found object: /usr/shlib/libcurses.so (with version "xpg4")

I am running v5.0. This error occurs because Compaq changed the version of
the curses library to the XPG standard. Up to v4.0F, they included BOTH
libraries on the CD's, so you could optionally install the old osf.1 version
if you needed. Since v5.0, they have done away with osf.1 all together (if
I remember what I read correctly). Is there a work around to put the osf.1
libraries on our system? Or do we just need to get a newer version of our
databse app that supports xpg4? I'm assuming the latter.
