All

We have an Alpha 4000 running version 4.0D of Digital Unix with Patch Kit 6
applied. We are experiencing problems with one out of many filesystems we
are trying to back up. We can backup this filesystem on its own, but when we
back this filesystem up along with all the others on the system, from our
nightly backup script, we get the following problem with this one filesystem
every time :-

path : /oracle/HR2/sapdata4
dev/fset : PPPsapdataA#sapdata4
type : advfs
advfs id : 0x3857a076.000a5f30.2
vdump: Date of last level 0 dump: the start of the epoch
vdump: Dumping directories
vdump: Dumping 21386870784 bytes, 9 directories, 11 files
vdump: Dumping regular files

vdump: Status at Wed Apr 26 16:12:20 2000
vdump: Dumped 1643249664 of 21386870784 bytes; 7.7% completed
vdump: Dumped 3 of 9 directories; 33.3% completed
vdump: Dumped 4 of 11 files; 36.4% completed
/opt/zeneca/backup/backup.daily[9]: 3650 Floating exception(coredump)
Backup of /oracle/HR2/sapdata4 failed Wed Apr 26 17:22:14 BST 2000

The backup then carries on and completes the rest of the filesystems on the
system.

Any ideas

Thanks in advance

Ian
