Many thanks to all of you!

DECevent requires an additional PAK only to turn on certain functionality,
like auto-analysis and system initiated call logging. Base functions work
fine without a PAK. The PAK doesn't cost anything IF you have a valid
hardware contract.

Another way around this is to have dia installed on one machine and copy
your /var/adm/binary.errlog from a problem machine to the machine with dia
installed. Then run dia specifying the directory where the other machines
binary errlog had been copied e.g.

Diamachine> dia -f /usr/local/tmp/binary.errlog -t s:10-may-2000:12:00:00
e:10-may-2000:15:30 >/usr/users/mydirectory/problem_machine.doc

This will run dia against the other machines errorlog and extract
information between the times specified and create output in the specified
directory.

Just an alternative

Now I only wonder why this program needs an extra PAK and I have to figure
out how to automate installation of it on every alpha/TU64 machine.
