GCC 2.95.2 on 5.0a - broken?

Hello...

  I've been trying to compile GCC 2.95.2 on Tru64 5.0a and I keep getting a
unresolved reference to 'ASM_FILE_START' upon 'make bootstrap'. I've read
on
gcc.gnu.org's mailling list archive that 2.95.2 is not 'supported' on 5.0a.

  Has anybody been able to compile this? Thanks in advance. I will
summarize.
