SUMMARY-probs configing sendmail

orig message below.

1) the man page has a typo. the command line syntax of:
#m4 -D_Configfile=hostname.m4 sendmail m4 > sendmail.cf
^ is missing a dot right here.

2)in sendmail.m4 the command line: include(_Configfile)dnl actually
needed to have the name of the config file in it, as in
include(hostname.m4)dnl

3)i had included entries for AliasFile, StatusFile, and HelpFile in my
hostname.m4 which were repetitious
with entries in the sendmail.m4

4)i created entries for _TransINET, and _GateINET in my hostname.m4 and
now sendmail is happily routing
mail out through our proxy server.

now i'm off to fix majordomo.

THANX!! to: stan, Joachim Schueth, Nikola Milutovic, Mary Freesmeyer-
who all gave great advice.
also Claus Assman and Neil Rickert.
