Hi,

Generally people are suggesting that the command should be producing
standard error, or an error exit code. This is not the case, so I can't act
on either of these conditions.

The command, a binary and not a script, is sending the message directly to
the terminal.

Anyway we've found another way around the problem, by starting TNG in a
different way; however it would be interesting to find a way of solving the
original problem. It was suggested that using Expect could be used, but I
don't think I'll have an opportunity to try this out, as we've no immediate
need now.
