Hi Managers

I am going to add an additional DE500 (a second NIC) to an existing two
GS140 ASE V 1.6. running Tru64 Unix 4.0F.

I've gone through the TruCluster Admin book, mainly Chapter 3 (managing
networks)
I will do my best not to change the existing device names specially the disk
drives and the network cards while reconfiguring the kernel.

The main idea of adding that card is to connect it directly to the other
system (with a crossed cable), no clients are involved.

Does it sound like a good idea?!
Can I make it the primary network? even if it has no clients connected.
Is it going to improve the two servers communication performance or it will
be only a backup network.

Any suggestions or guide lines will be appreciated.

TIA
