for their responses, most of which discouraged using the non-unix
flavour of these controllers and recommended buying the supported (but
more expensive) version.
As a matter of fact, the controllers run under V4.0F (and maybe 4.0D
and 4.0E) using the built-in Intraserver driver, but I'm not sure
whether ultra SCSI mode is the selected because of the error message
given during boot. For OS versions below (V4.0B at least) it's just
impossible to get the controller working: When using the standard driver
(for the NCR 810 chip) the system hangs when trying to mount the disks.
When using the downloadable Intraserver driver V2.0.29 an appropriate
error message is displayed during boot saying that the controllers are
being disabled.
As there's no use taking these adapters I'm thiniking of getting the
right ones.
Regards
Peter
