Tru64 UNIX V5.0A and HSZ40 Multibus failover?

Hello all,

I've a couple of HSZ40's (HSOF V3.4 and above) that
I'm currently running in Transparent failover mode.

Now I was trying to get them running in Multibus
failover mode as supported in the HSOF running.

My AS4100 did see all the units on all the SCSI
buses (FW V5.7-4) but the system would not boot.

Actually, it started booting but hung during
SCSI bus initialisation. After booting the install
CD and issuing "hwmgr -scan scsi" it didn't return
either.

The same devices are working as expected in a
transparent failover cabling.

Q1: are there any chances to get this to work?

Q2: do I have to do anything special on the
console level to make Tru64 happy?

Q3: In a multibus failover configuration, how does
the OS know that the two units seen on the two
SCSI-buses are actually one and the same device?

The HW Config Manual of TCS does mention HSZ70
and HSZ80 in regard of Multibus configuration but
since HSZ40 also supports it on the HSOF level,
I wonder why Tru64 is not honoring it.

Thank's much already for any thoughts on this!
