Here's an odd request:
Could someone with an AlphaStation 255 please tell me the markings
that are on capacitor C127? Eg:
2.2 - 35
H3 (2)
This is the small, black capacitor located at the edge of the
motherboard, right between the SCSI/parallel port connectors and the
PS/2 mouse/keyboard connectors. Unfortunately, C127 on my AS 255 is
covered in white ash... :( Anyone know the manufacturer and/or specs
of these capacitors?
As background, my AS 255 hung over the weekend; upon rebooting, the
graphics display complained that no keyboard was present, even though
the keyboard was plugged in. Rebooting with a serial console, I see
that the SRM console can't see any of the devices on the SCSI bus
either, though the scsi controller is visible. It appears that the
failed capacitor has cut power to the PS/2 connector(s) and the SCSI
bus. I'm hoping that the capacitor is the only thing that has
failed...
Thanks,
John
