Tru64 managers:
I searched the archives and found similar things but not an exact fit.
We upgraded the memory in a DS20 to 4GB. All of the old memory cards
were taken out and new 256MB cards were installed. Within 3 days we had
2 crashes and 1 "hang". The crash log said something about memory fault.
Is this likely to be a hardware problem or a software problem? Do we need
to
do a kernel rebuild or any other kind of configuration change because of
the
memory upgrade? The archived messages I saw said that no kernel rebuild
is necessary for an addition of memory or a cpu of the same type. But, we
didn't add more memory, we replaced the memory. So do we need to make
any software changes? vmstat -P shows 4GB of memory.
Thanks,
Mike Taylor
