Summary: Eliminating Trailing \n in a text file..

Suggestions varied from using PERL, and dd to chop off
the last character. Also tr -d was suggested.

I opted for another choice in the meantime. since it
was only 8 characters, I used cat to enter my data.

Instead of hitting Enter, It Hit ^D twice.

Thanks for the replies

George
