OS Level: Tru64 UNIX 5.0 (with patch kit #2 installed)
We have several Alpha systems running 5.0 and NFS mounting several
server exported file systems. All the client systems are configured
the same. On of them, however, the lock manager keeps dying for some
reason with the following error:
Aug 5 13:02:40 enka lockd[3443]: pmap_getport error to \
enka.cs.unca.edu for 100021, 1 (tcp): RPC: Port mapper failure
The user sees messages such as:
mailx: cannot lockf /usr/spool/mail/benites
Other client machines work without this error.
Any idea what's going on?
