Tru64 & ProEngineer

  I want to know if there is "the best settings" for
  ProE use on Tru64; if there is some special settings
  for "/etc/sysconfigtab", etc.

  We have tested ProE with NT and Tru64/DU4.0f and
  by some reason ProE just doesn't perform too well
  with Tru64; our test machine was PWS433a with 750MB memory.

  I noticed also that PWS was "too responsive" (==telnet etc.
   works "too well") with Tru64 when ProEngineer was running;
  I thouht that somehow ProEngineer didn't "get enough CPU"?!?

  If you try ProE with NT4, ProE just "sucks all power" so
  every other application (which are running at the same time)
  just go to their knees.

  Anyway, I'm quite dissappointed to the fact that 600-700MHz PC
  beats PWS too easily on ProE use; PWS is still unbeatable
  with our own floating point intensive tests/apps! It seems to me
  that ProE is just too badly optimized for Alpha; perhaps it is
  compiled with flags "-arch ev4 -not-too-fast" ... :~(
