bad HSG80 performance

Managers,

i have a big performance problem with our EMA12k
Here's the Hardware setup

ES-40 2X PCI FCAL controller -> 8 Port FC Switch -> 2X2 HSG80 in dual
redundant mode -> 2x3 4200-disk enclosures, 84 9GB disks total 10000RPM

I have configured 2 stripe units (raid0) with 6 devices (one disk on each
scsi bus) on one pair of hsg80. Chunk size 64k.

I get 40mb/sec from Tru64 when writing to the raw device.
When writing to the two devices at the same time, the performace goes down
to 20 mb/sec per device. No matter how many units, etc etc i use, i never
manage to come over 40mb/sec per HSG80.

When i write to a single disk (on the hsg80) i get 16mb/sec, which seems
ok.

Is this kind of performance normal for the hsg80 ?

What is the fastest number that anyone has seen in a similar setup.

Thanks in advance,
--Armin
