Really thanks for the quick responses from:

      Octave J. Orgeron.

After I remove the .Xauthority in the home directories of those users, they can login now.

My original question is:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HI Managers,

Some of our users could not login in DecUnix 4.0F on Console, but some could. Their password are right, because they can telnet
from other hosts. When they try to log in on Console, a dialog box with following message appeared.

The DT messaging system could not be started

          To correct the problem

          1. Choose [OK] to return to the login screen.
          2. Select FailSafe Session from the login screen's option menu and log in.
          3. CHeck to see that your hostname exists correctly in /etc/hosts if you network has already been configured.
          4. If your network has not yet been confiigured, make sure that /etc/hosts has the following entry in it
               127.0.0.1 localhost
For additional information , see the CDE user's guide

I had check the file "/etc/host", our hostname is in it. And I don't have CDE user's guide. What's the problem? What's the DT
messaging system?
