Thanks to Alan Davis, Joerg Bochert, Dagmar Galama, Tom Brand, Richard
Loken, Bruce Platt, Jim Kurtenbach, William Bochnik, Bryan Lavelle, and John
J. Francini for responding.

The long & short of it is that there are 6 buttons on HSZ controller which
will quiesce the disks plugged into the port corresponding to the button
pressed. After that you have between 10-30 seconds to unplug the disk
without removing it from the slot. Then remove the disk from the slot after
it has had a chance to spin down taking care to keep it level. Apparently,
these disks are designed to be unplugged while powered up.

These instructions assume that the device corresponding to the disk being
removed has been deleted from the HSZ configs.

Thanks everyone.

disks from. I've already deleted the storagesets & devices in the HSZ
config. Is there a way to power off the drives before I remove them? It
doesn't seem right to remove the drives while they're still powered up.
