Hello Managers:

We have several XP900 workstations running Tru64 4.0f, and for security
reasons they're not connected to the network. We are looking at the
possibility of setting up modems on them, and dialing in directly for
maintenance. This maintenance will be limited to uploading files (such .c
files) to a certain directory, and running a script (ex. to recompile a GUI
app). So it's all character based.

We would have someone at the workstation to turn on and off the modem, and
to testing the GUI app after the maintenance.

The call can be originated by a similar workstation (Tru64 4.0f) or a PC
running NT/98/95, whichever its easier or most cost effective.

Any suggestions on this matter (modem brand, type of connection, etc) will
be greatly appreciated.

thx

Tino
