The _overwhelming_ response was that the TL891 (or TL892, which
has 2 tz89's instead of one) was the right unit for the quantity of
data that we are looking to store. The unit can hold up to 10 DLTs.
In fact, no response mentioned any other tape drive! :) For larger
installations, the TL894/5 were suggested.

Also, several managers mentioned that automated backups are
much easier to cope with if you're running the Legato NSR software.
We'll look into this as well.

        Thanks as always!

Orignial Post:

Given that it's the dawn of a new budget year here, I'm now in
the market for a DLT changer :) We're looking to facilitate the
automated backup of several Alphas running Tru64 V4.0F and 5.0A. We're
talking about 6 or 7 machines, so probably a unit with 1 or 2 DLTs
would be fine.

I was wondering what people's experiences were with these
devices, and any recommendations for specific drives which have worked
well with alphas/Tru64 in your experiences.

Thanks, and apologies if this post is technically off-topic.
