I received a response from Dirk Hufnagel that helped. He indicates that
most if not all Java VM support command line parameters to set the initial
and maximum heap size. The default maximum is 16MB. If you have a java
program that creates lots of objects, 16MB is quickly
exceeded and you will get the java.lang.OutOfMemory error message.
With java 1.2.2-1 on Tru64 the above options are -Xms and -Xmx.
With jre 1.18 on Tru64 the above options are -ms and -mx.
